Belagavi, one of the largest districts in Karnataka, may be divided into three districts. The government is reportedly considering the formation of Chikkodi and Gokak as separate districts.

In Uttara Kannada, there is growing demand to carve out a new district with Sirsi as its headquarters. The coastal district, which currently has 12 taluks, may be split into two for better governance.

Tumakuru district, with 10 taluks and located close to Bengaluru, is also under serious consideration for division. Proposals include declaring Madhugiri and Tiptur as separate districts to speed up development.

Mysuru, one of the State’s major cities, may also be divided, with demands to form a new district by separating Hunsur along with nearby taluks.

The government is said to be holding discussions on these proposals, though no final decision has been announced yet.
