He cited a written reply by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari during the ongoing Budget Session in New Delhi. According to the reply, land acquisition for the project — which requires a total of 1,248 acres — is nearing completion.
The ambitious ₹1,622-crore project will be executed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in three packages. Tendering has already begun for Package-1, while detailed project reports (DPRs) for the remaining two packages have been finalised and are awaiting technical approval from the Central government.

The ring road aims to reduce growing traffic congestion in Belagavi city by enabling heavy vehicles from Bengaluru, Pune and Goa to bypass the city. The proposed highway will pass through 32 villages, including Honaga, Mutaga and Uchagaon, and is expected to strengthen connectivity and boost economic activity in the rural belt.
Further updates are expected once technical approvals are granted and construction timelines are announced.
