The move comes after a case registered at Udyambag police station, where eight individuals allegedly used fake Aadhaar documents to impersonate rightful owners and fraudulently transfer ancestral property. Officials said the mandatory Aadhaar verification will help safeguard public and government properties, maintain law and order, and curb criminal activities.

Taking serious note of the issue, district minister Satish Jarkiholi has directed the formation of a joint task force comprising senior police and revenue department officials to probe the alleged fake Aadhaar network. Authorities have also raised concerns over the misuse of fake identity documents in other crimes, including manipulation of age records in child marriage cases.
Since Aadhaar is linked to multiple government and private services, including banking, officials said strict enforcement is essential to protect citizens and prevent further misuse.
