Belagavi: 18 Child Labourers Rescued in Joint Operation

Under the guidance of the Belagavi City Police Commissioner, a joint inspection and rescue operation was conducted on January 16 and 17, 2026, at various industrial establishments across the city.

The coordinated drive involved the District Legal Services Authority, Belagavi City Police, District Child Protection Unit, Education Department, Labour Department, and Child Helpline 1098. During the inspections, officials identified and rescued 18 children who were engaged in child labour.

The rescued children have been provided immediate protection and assistance. Authorities have initiated further legal proceedings against those responsible, in accordance with child protection and labour laws.
