
BCC Struggles to Meet Tax Target Despite Revenue Rise

Belagavi becomes home for another State Award. The Karnataka Sangeeta Nritya Academy has announced ‘Karnataka Kalashri’ State Awards for the year 2020-21 and Pandit Rajaprabhu Dhotre of Belagavi (Vocal) is one among the awardees.
The awards were announced at a gathering presided over by Academy Chairman Anoor Ananthakrishna Sharma recently. The Honorary Awards carry a cash prize of Rs.50, 000 and the Annual Awards carry a cash prize of Rs.25, 000 and a citation. The awards are going to be conferred at a program to require place at Bengaluru’s Ravindra Kalakshetra on Feb. 6, in step with a release. Pt Rajprabhu Dhotre hails from a family of musicians. His grandfather was Pakhawaj player and his father a musician. His mother too was inquisitive about singing classical and devotional songs.
Rajprabhu has inherited the impulse of singing from his parents. He began to sing from the age of 6. At the age of 10, he came under the tutelage of Bhajan Chudamani Late Pt.Basvantappa Kadlaskar, a well-known Kirana Gharana vocalist and instructor from Belagavi.
Dhotre was also feted with the Rajostva award for the year 2017. Ganesh Bhat, Mandya’s Upasana Mohan and Srirangapatna’s Murali also bagged the honor.
He is proficient in classical, light classical devotional songs. He has performed concerts in Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra, Andra Pradesh , Gujrat etc. he’s accredited to all or any India Radio with A Grade for classical and lightweight music. He stood first within the Sangeet Vidwat exam within the whole of the state. He also performs in Doordarshan Bengaluru and Goa.
