Belagavi–Kittur–Dharwad New Line

Officials reported that the land survey for the proposed new railway line is complete, except for around 40 acres near Dharwad. Once the state government hands over the required land, tenders will be issued and work will begin. The MP said he will discuss the land transfer with state authorities.

Lokapur–Ramdurg–Saundatti–Dharwad Route

Railway engineers stated that a request for approval of the preliminary survey has already been sent to the Railway Board. The MP noted that the new line would benefit lakhs of devotees visiting prominent temples in Ramdurg, Saundatti, and Shirasangi.

Belagavi Level Crossing 381

The MP directed officials to resolve traffic diversion permissions needed from the police to start the second line work near LC-381. The GM has been asked to visit the site and expedite the project.

Belagavi Railway Station Upgrades

Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, work at Belagavi station— including lifts, elevators, and the foot overbridge— is progressing slowly. The MP instructed officials to speed up pending works at both Belagavi and Ghataprabha stations due to public complaints.

Train Service Demands

The MP urged officials to consider:

  • New trains on Belagavi–Managoor, Belagavi–Madgaon–Udupi–Mangaluru, and Belagavi–Chennai (via Tirupati) routes
  • Departure of Belagavi–Bengaluru Vande Bharat at 6:00 AM
  • Daily operations for the Hubballi–Belagavi–Pune Vande Bharat instead of three days a week

The meeting was attended by newly elected members and senior railway officials.
