Highlighting Belagavi’s rapid growth, especially in the industrial sector, Shettar said the withdrawal of several flight services after the completion of the UDAN scheme period has caused inconvenience to industrialists and residents.

The MP also requested early approval for the state government’s proposal to rename four airports in Karnataka — Belagavi as Kittur Rani Chennamma Airport, Hubballi as Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna Airport, Shivamogga as Rashtrakavi Dr. K.V. Puttappa (Kuvempu) Airport, and Vijayapura as Jagajyoti Basaveshwara Airport.
Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Ramamohan Naidu assured that the matter would be considered and necessary steps would be taken at the earliest.
