In view of the rising number of road accidents and increasing traffic congestion in Belagavi city, a high-level meeting was held at the Police Commissioner’s office under the chairmanship of Police Commissioner Bhushan Borase (IPS).

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held with truck drivers and their associations to decide appropriate timings for the entry of heavy vehicles into the city. Authorities stated that the final decision will balance road safety, smooth traffic flow, and the needs of trade and business activities. The new timings are expected to be finalized within the next 10 days.
The meeting also focused on long-distance bus operations. Officials discussed identifying new pickup and drop points along with dedicated parking areas for buses to improve traffic management.
Police Commissioner Bhushan Borase emphasized that these steps are being taken to strengthen traffic discipline and ensure public safety across the city.
