In her petition submitted on Sunday, the woman stated that she had earlier approached Shahapur police station on March 29 to file a complaint. She also claimed that certain valuables, including gold ornaments and a mobile phone identified as hers, were not secured as evidence.
The complainant further alleged that she was asked to settle the matter, which she refused. She has now requested registration of an FIR, recovery of her valuables, and protection.

According to her detailed complaint, the woman has accused a 32-year-old Belagavi resident of exploiting her over several years on the pretext of marriage, and allegedly blackmailing her using private photos and videos.
She claimed that more than ₹19 lakh in cash was taken from her under pressure, along with gold ornaments worth over ₹25 lakh belonging to her and her family. She also alleged that the accused’s family members were aware of and supported the acts.
Police Commissioner Bhushan Borase has assured that appropriate legal action will be taken after reviewing the matter.
