Belagavi, October 2025: The much-awaited Bengaluru-Mumbai superfast train will now run via Hubballi and Belagavi, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has confirmed.

The new train will cut travel time to around 18 hours, making it faster than the Udyan Express, which currently takes over 23 hours via Guntakal and Kalaburagi. Although the Hubballi route is slightly longer at 1,227 km, it will have fewer stops, including Tumakuru, Davangere, Hubballi, and Belagavi. This will make travel more convenient for passengers across Karnataka.
The train is expected to originate from Bengaluru SMVT and terminate at Mumbai CSMT, though officials are yet to finalize the exact Bengaluru station. Additionally, authorities are planning new dedicated train services from Bengaluru to other major cities to meet growing demand.
Citizens and commuters have welcomed the announcement. They say the new route improves connectivity across Karnataka while reducing travel time between the two economic hubs.
