ATM Stolen in Daring Heist Near Belagavi on NH-48

In a bold and unusual robbery, an entire ATM machine was stolen late Sunday night from Hosa Vantamuri village along National Highway-48 on the outskirts of Belagavi.

According to police, three unidentified men arrived with a handcart, broke into the India ATM kiosk, and sprayed black paint on the sensors to disable security alerts. The gang then dismantled the ATM, placed it on the handcart, and pushed it nearly 200 metres before loading it into a waiting vehicle.

Initial reports indicate the machine contained over ₹1 lakh.

Kakati Police rushed to the spot after receiving the alert and have launched a search for the suspects. CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined.

The incident has shocked residents and raised concerns about security at roadside ATM kiosks, prompting authorities to call for stricter safety measures.
