The incident came to light after the woman officer noticed suspicious devices concealed inside bulb holders at her home. A detailed investigation by Malmaruti police revealed that at least eight hidden cameras had been installed in different rooms, all positioned to monitor her personal activities.
Police identified Vinod T, a government official, as the prime accused. According to investigators, the act was driven by professional rivalry and personal vendetta, with the accused allegedly holding the woman officer responsible for his transfer. Officials said the operation was carefully planned with the intent to defame her and extort money.

In a disturbing revelation, police said Vinod allegedly worked with fake journalists and planned to leak or threaten to release the footage unless money was paid. Acting on technical surveillance and evidence, police laid a trap and arrested the accused. His mobile phones and electronic devices have been seized for forensic analysis.
So far, three accused have been arrested, while another suspect from the victim’s office has been detained for questioning. Vinod T has been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody. Police said further arrests are likely as the investigation continues.
