Belagavi, Nov 10: The 11th edition of the Indo-Sri Lanka joint military exercise ‘Mitra Shakti 2025’ commenced today at the Foreign Training Node in Belagavi. The two-week exercise, scheduled to continue till November 23, focuses on enhancing operational synergy between the Indian and Sri Lankan armies in conducting joint operations in urban and semi-urban environments.

According to a press release by the Additional Directorate-General of Public Information (ADGPI), Indian Army, the exercise aims to improve interoperability and coordination between the two forces, fostering a deeper understanding of each other’s tactical approaches.

The collaborative effort also underscores the shared commitment of India and Sri Lanka toward promoting regional peace and security, while further strengthening defence cooperation and strategic partnership between the neighbouring nations.
The ‘Mitra Shakti’ series of exercises have been instrumental in enhancing mutual trust and camaraderie between the two countries’ armed forces, with each edition focusing on strengthening tactical and technical skills for joint military operations.
