Indian Navy, a three dimensional and well balanced force. It can attack the enemies above, on, and below the ocean level. It has a major role in safeguarding our motherland. This wonderful force celebrates its day today i.e. 4th December. The theme of 2020’s Indian Navy day is “Indian Navy Combat Ready, Credible & Cohesive”.

The basic role of Indian Navy is to safeguard the marine corners of the country. It also updates the worldwide relations of India by participating in joint exercises, doing seaport visits, altruistic and rescue missions, upheaval help, etc. Indian Navy has a good control and hold on the Indian Ocean. Most of the time, Indian Navy will be participating in joint exercises with the US Navy, Japanese Navy and sometimes with Australian Navy.

Indian Navy Day is observed in remembrance of the attack on the naval base of Pakistan. This incident took place in Karachi on Dec 4th 1971. This mission was called Operation Trident. For a fun fact, do you know who is the father of Indian Navy? It is called “Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj”.

The Prime Minister tweeted on this auspicious occasion today. He said “Navy Day greetings to all our valorous navy personnel and their families. The Indian navy fearlessly protects our coasts and also renders humanitarian assistance in times of need. We also remember India’s rich maritime tradition over centuries”
