Karnataka Budget 2026: Key Development Projects for Belagavi

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday presented the Karnataka Budget for 2026–27 in the Legislative Assembly, announcing several development projects for Belagavi district.

The government will construct permanent barracks for 1,000 staff deployed during the legislature session in Belagavi at a cost of ₹20 crore. A 1,000-acre industrial park will also be developed in the district to promote industrial growth.

The budget also includes the establishment of a government Agriculture College at Athani. The college will be set up at the Bahurao Deshpande Veterinary College campus in Kokatnur village, spread over 211 acres, and is expected to benefit students from nearby districts as well.

Other key announcements for Belagavi include installation of CT scanning machines at the veterinary college, a wrestling arena (Kusthi Akhada) at Belagundi, a First Grade College in Belagavi Rural, and a new police station at Yaragatti. The government also plans to build Prajasoudha in Bailahongal.

Additionally, a working women’s hostel for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities will be established in Belagavi, along with a 150-capacity post-matric hostel for students in the district.
