Belagavi: Lokayukta officials carried out simultaneous raids on properties linked to Ajay Singh Rajput, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of the Belagavi District Urban Development Cell, on Tuesday in connection with alleged corruption.

The raids were conducted at his residence in Anjaneya Nagar in Belagavi city, as well as at properties in Athani and Hukkeri towns. During the searches, officials reportedly recovered more than 1 kg of gold ornaments and found bank deposits amounting to around ₹2 crore.
Investigators also noted that the officer owns three houses located close to each other in Belagavi, raising suspicion over disproportionate assets.
The operation was led by DySPs BS Patil and Bharat Reddy, and further scrutiny of documents and assets is currently underway. Lokayukta officials are continuing their investigation to ascertain the extent of alleged illegal wealth.
