Government’s Commitment to Welfare
Speaking to reporters, Hebbalkar emphasized the government’s dedication to women’s empowerment and financial stability. The Gruha Lakshmi scheme provides financial aid to eligible women heads of households and remains one of the administration’s key welfare initiatives. However, delays in fund disbursement had caused concerns among beneficiaries.
Honorarium Hike for Anganwadi Workers
Along with updates on the Gruha Lakshmi scheme, the minister also addressed Anganwadi workers’ salaries. She noted that the current government had earlier raised the honorarium for Anganwadi workers by ₹2,000, while previous administrations did not implement further hikes.
“In this budget, we are increasing the honorarium by ₹750 for Anganwadi workers and ₹500 for assistants. This will be implemented soon,” she stated. The hike aims to enhance financial security and improve working conditions for Anganwadi workers, who play a crucial role in early childhood development and nutrition programs.
