MES Members Booked for Black Day Protest in Belagavi

The Belagavi police have taken legal action against 38 members of the Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti (MES), including former MLA Manohar Kallappa Kinekar, for organizing a protest march and meeting on Kannada Rajyotsava (November 1) to mark it as Black Day.

Despite being denied permission for any rally or gathering, MES leaders and workers carried black flags and raised slogans during the protest in Belagavi. The police have registered a case at the Market Police Station under various sections for violating government orders and promoting linguistic hatred.

According to Belagavi Police Commissioner Bhushan Borse, video and photographic evidence has been collected, and an investigation is underway. Appropriate legal action will be taken against those responsible, he confirmed.

The case was formally registered on November 2, and the accused face charges related to breach of public order and disobedience of government directives.
