Belagavi: Rear Admiral Vikram Menon, Flag Officer Commanding of the Karnataka Naval Area, will be the chief guest and deliver the convocation address at Visvesvaraya Technological University’s (VTU) 25th annual convocation (Part 2) to be held in Belagavi on Monday.

The convocation is exclusively for postgraduate students, during which 8,702 candidates will receive degree certificates across courses including MBA, MCA, M.Tech, M.Arch, M.Plan and M.Sc. The overall pass percentage stands at 91.21, with girl students outperforming boys.

Governor and Chancellor of VTU Thaawarchand Gehlot will preside over the event, while Minister for Higher Education and Pro-Chancellor M.C. Sudhakar will be present.
Vice-Chancellor S. Vidyashankar said the university has planned to conduct two convocations annually to align with the international academic calendar and avoid delays in issuing degree certificates. He also inaugurated the e-Vidyarthi Mitra Portal, a student grievance redressal platform.
VTU will also award 248 research degrees, including 246 Ph.Ds, at the convocation.
