Satish Jarkiholi Reviews Ballari Nala Project Progress

Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi chaired a progress review meeting at the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi on Tuesday to assess the status of forest clearance, rehabilitation and resettlement processes related to the Ballari Nala project.

The meeting focused on completing the long-pending irrigation project and ensuring continuous water supply to farmers. Detailed discussions were held on strengthening coordination among the Revenue, Forest and Irrigation departments to address implementation challenges.

Mr. Jarkiholi directed officials to resolve pending issues at the earliest and accelerate the execution of the project. He also instructed concerned authorities to expedite the transfer of government land and issuance of FRA certificates in villages of Terdal and Bailhongal taluks.

Further, the Minister asked forest officials to complete procedures for alternative plantation land and secure forest clearance approvals, while irrigation department officials were directed to fast-track rehabilitation, resettlement and land acquisition for villages affected by submergence.

Deputy Commissioners of Bagalkot and Belagavi districts, sub-divisional officers of Jamkhandi and Bailhongal, senior forest officials, engineers and other Revenue, Forest and Irrigation department officials were present at the meeting.
