The Centre has approved ₹100 crore for the development of the Savadatti Yellammana Gudda temple in Karnataka. SASCI: Driving Iconic Tourist Center Development

Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat announced the SASCI scheme’s focus on providing long-term, interest-free loans for 50 years. This initiative enables states to develop iconic tourist centers like the Savadatti Yellammana Gudda temple and promote them globally. The Ministry of Tourism approved ₹3,295 crore for projects designed to boost local economies and foster sustainable tourism.

The government urged states to submit proposals aligned with this vision. Karnataka prioritized the Savadatti Yellammana Gudda temple, recognizing its cultural and spiritual significance. This project highlights the Centre’s dedication to preserving heritage while creating new opportunities for economic growth.

Belagavi MP Jagadish Shettar thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat for supporting this landmark initiative. He explained how the Savadatti Yellammana Gudda temple development will create jobs, enhance infrastructure, and boost the region’s cultural tourism.

The plan includes modern amenities while preserving the temple’s spiritual essence. Shettar emphasized that this initiative would draw more visitors and increase global recognition for the temple. Residents of Belagavi believe this development will elevate the region as a key cultural destination in India.
