The Christmas Crib!

The Christmas crib reminds us of the commemoration of the birth of Jesus in a manger. It was originally enacted live by St. Francis of Assisi. Later, it became a norm in every Church to remind ‘Christians of Jesus’ nativity.

The crib usually has Mary, Joseph and child Jesus. They are surrounded by shepherds, who were told to pay homage to Jesus. The three kings, namely, Casper, Balthasar and Melchior are in attendance with their gifts i.e., gold – as a symbol of kingship on earth, myrrh – as a symbol of death and frankincense – as a symbol of deity.
