Speaking to reporters at the Belagavi Airport, Vijayendra alleged that the state government had convened a special legislative session with the sole intention of provoking people against the NDA government. He claimed that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was using the special session to safeguard his chief ministerial position and manage internal party dynamics.

Vijayendra further said that as the Congress government is nearing three years in power, it should focus on discussing the welfare schemes implemented for the people instead of blaming the Centre.
