“Save trees, Save life” has just become a caption but it’s not implemented anywhere. The current situation of our city Belgaum which was once known as a green city will no more be called so because of our deeds. Cutting of trees in the name of Smart City is just not right.
Trees do not only protect our nature but have too many other uses too. On Sundays in Khasbag, we are all aware of the special market where people earn most of their profits by selling vegetables and many more on the roads and their protection is the only shade of trees and these trees have been cut because of the extension of roads, leaves them no option but to struggle on roads.
Extension of roads can be done without cutting the trees also. It’s a request not to cut the trees on the name of the Smart City Project.
