During the visit, the team met zoo officials and staff, reviewed reports, and assessed ongoing efforts to protect the remaining seven blackbucks. The officials gathered detailed information on the incident and checked the measures being implemented to control further casualties.

Speaking to the media, Rangaswamy said that the visit was carried out as per the directions of the Forest Minister. He stated that the exact cause of death will be confirmed only after receiving post-mortem and laboratory reports.
He indicated that there may have been operational lapses and assured that strict action would be taken against anyone found responsible—be it zoo staff, officers, or veterinarians. He also mentioned that expert veterinary teams have already visited and initiated treatment measures.
Zoo authorities have preliminarily suspected a bacterial or viral infection, but confirmation is pending. Samples have been sent to the laboratory for detailed analysis.
