Our beloved India is safe because of many aspects. One of those aspects and the important aspect is the Indian Army. Why not? They spend their day in and day out just to keep us, citizens of India safe. They don’t celebrate any festival with their family so that we can celebrate one. But the sad part is many of the times we forget them and their sacrifices too quickly.
But no more, at least in Belagavi. Why? Because a military memorial is about to be built near the heart of the city i.e. the railway station (Gogte circle). This will be in honor of and to remember the Armed Forces of India who are sacrificing their needs and are safeguarding the country for us. The work commenced on Wednesday, by cleaning the site. It is estimated that around 1.5 crore rupees will be invested to make this memorial.
This project is undertaken by the Belagavi North MLA, Shri Anil Benake and under his leadership the project is being implemented. Belagavi’s Maratha Light Infantry, Commando training centers, and Airman training school have contributed many young talents to our Indian defense system. This Army memorial will surely attract many youth towards the army and also it will benefit the Belagavi tourism.
