Vishwaraj Sugar new sugar factory Belagavi

Vishwaraj Sugar Industries Limited (VSIL) has announced a significant investment of ₹250 crore to set up a new sugar factory at Navage village in Belagavi district, Karnataka. The plant will feature a crushing capacity of 5,000 tonnes of cane per day (TCD) and a 150-kiloliter-per-day (klpd) distillery.

The project received approval from the Commerce and Industries Department in July last year. A distance certificate was also issued for its establishment. Construction is expected to begin in the next financial year. The funding will be a mix of debt and equity.

Ongoing Expansions at Bellad Bagewadi Facility
VSIL currently operates a 10,500 TCD sugar factory, a 34 MW cogeneration plant, and a 100 klpd distillery at its Bellad Bagewadi unit in Belagavi. The company is in the final stages of expanding this facility, adding a 150 klpd distillery and a 22 MW power plant, pending clearance from the State Pollution Control Board.
