Wagon Slides Off Track and Blocks Both Lines
One of the wagons slipped off the track and landed across both rail lines. This blocked trains in both directions. Several passenger and goods trains could not move. Morning travellers faced delays and confusion.
At the Belagavi railway station, passengers waited without clear information. Many people tried calling helplines and checking online apps for updates. The sudden stop in train movement affected travel plans across the region.
Railway Teams Take Fast Action
Railway staff reached the spot quickly. They used cranes and tools to lift the wagon and clear the tracks. Teams worked without break to restore services.
“We are doing our best to restart train services. Our team acted fast to manage the situation,” said a railway officer present at the site.
By late morning, the team cleared one line. Trains began to move slowly on that track. Officials gave instructions to maintain low speed until checks were done.
What Caused the Derailment?
Railway engineers are checking the tracks and wagon for problems. They are reviewing equipment and records. Officials will share the cause once the investigation ends.
The safety team is also inspecting nearby tracks to ensure there are no further risks. The railways want to avoid such incidents in the future.
Train Services Returning to Normal
One line is already working. Teams are now clearing the second track. Full services will resume after safety checks.
Officials have asked passengers to stay updated through railway apps and station announcements. Travelers should check their train status before leaving.
