Belagavi Deputy Commissioner said the district administration will soon submit a proposal to the government seeking the required funds. Activists want this year’s celebration to be larger than ever before, with more public participation and cultural programs.

During the preparatory meeting, activists made several key proposals, including:
- 60% of all road nameplates in Belagavi should be written in Kannada, to strengthen the language’s presence in public spaces.
- Installation of a 108-foot statue of Goddess Bhuvaneshwari at the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha premises, symbolizing unity and devotion to Karnataka.
- Promotion of traditional instruments such as the nadaswara and chende during the Rajyotsava procession, replacing Western DJ culture to preserve Kannada traditions.
- Encouragement for local folk artists and schools to actively participate in cultural events and displays.
While most participants supported the idea of using traditional music, some expressed mixed opinions, suggesting a blend of both modern and traditional styles to engage the youth.
Preparations for the festival have already begun. Cultural committees, educational institutions, and Kannada organizations are working together to organize folk dances, traditional art displays, and a massive citywide procession.
With enthusiastic planning and community support, Belagavi is all set to host one of the largest Karnataka Rajyotsava celebrations in recent years — a proud tribute to Karnataka’s culture and heritage.
