Speaking to the media after a preparatory meeting with top police officials, he said the increased deployment is in response to the likelihood of multiple protests by farmers, MES activists and groups demanding reservation-related changes.

The minister confirmed that adequate arrangements for food, stay and other basic facilities have been made for the deployed personnel. He further highlighted that recruitment delays caused by internal reservation issues have been resolved. As a result, 545 sub-inspectors have almost completed training, and another 600 PSI posts will soon be filled.

Dr. Parameshwar also stated that 15,000 constable posts remain vacant and will be filled in phases, with the government offering a two-year age relaxation. He added that clear instructions have been given to curb illegal activities such as gambling and matka during the session.
