Speaking to media persons after inaugurating an indoor box cricket stadium at Zilla Bala Bhavan, Mr. Jarkiholi said leaders from Belagavi district have, on several occasions, met the Chief Minister and submitted appeals seeking bifurcation. However, he clarified that the final decision would be taken by the Chief Minister after considering all aspects.
On development works, the minister said there was no need to wait for fresh budgetary allocations as development could be accelerated by effectively utilising funds already available with various government departments. He said major city landmarks including Ashoka Circle, Chennamma Circle and Kolhapur Circle would be taken up for development in the coming days.

Responding to questions on drinking water supply to Hubballi-Dharwad, Mr. Jarkiholi said it was not possible to deny drinking water requirements and added that adequate water is available in the Hipparagi reservoir.
On the upcoming mayoral election in the Belagavi Municipal Corporation, he said the Congress party would not interfere in the process and that the party or group commanding a majority would form the leadership.
The minister also reiterated the government’s commitment to balanced development across the district and assured that priority would be given to infrastructure and civic projects.
