The accused have been identified as Megha Maradolkar, a resident of Belagavi who was apprehended in Goa, and Hyderali Ghulamali Ujjainwala, who was arrested in Mumbai. The arrests were made following a complaint filed by a victim, Manasi, which triggered an investigation by the Cyber, Economic and Narcotic (CEN) wing.
According to police, Megha allegedly befriended unsuspecting individuals by promising them lucrative remote job opportunities and assistance in securing government loans. She then collected their personal documents and used them to open bank accounts without informing them of the fraudulent intent. These accounts were later used as “money mules” to route незаконно obtained funds.
A search at Megha’s residence led to the discovery of documents related to 72 bank accounts opened in the names of innocent citizens from Belagavi. Investigators revealed that bank kits and passbooks were couriered to Hyderali in Mumbai.

Hyderali, along with his son Idris Ali, accomplice Aziz Bora, and Megha’s daughter Shivani, allegedly handled the distribution and movement of the defrauded money. Police have detected transactions amounting to over ₹1.27 crore, with 47 bank accounts linked to 144 complaints registered on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP).
Police Commissioner Borase Bhushan Gulabarao commended the efforts of Assistant Commissioner of Police B.S. Mantur, Police Inspector S.N. Gabi, and their team for successfully cracking the case.
Authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant and avoid sharing personal documents or opening bank accounts on behalf of others, especially in response to unsolicited job or loan offers online.
