Speaking after a meeting with the Railway Minister in New Delhi, Joshi said the train will operate through the central Karnataka route, passing via Tumakuru, Davanagere, Haveri, Hubballi-Dharwad and Belagavi.

He further stated that the Railway Ministry has also agreed in principle to upgrade the service into a Vande Bharat Sleeper train in the future.

Joshi said the new train service is expected to significantly improve rail connectivity between Bengaluru and Mumbai while benefiting passengers from north Karnataka, including Belagavi.

Apart from the new train service, Joshi also discussed the redevelopment of Hubballi Railway Station and demanded a fresh survey for the proposed Lokapur-Savadatti-Dharwad railway line. According to him, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw responded positively to the proposals.
