According to sources, a 12-member CBI team led by a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP), accompanied by four military intelligence personnel, arrived at the school premises in the morning and continued the operation throughout the day. Officials reportedly scrutinized documents and questioned school authorities regarding financial and administrative matters.

The investigation is linked to allegations of financial improprieties, irregularities in procurement processes, and possible misuse of funds over several years. The probe was initiated following a complaint submitted to the Ministry of Defence by whistleblower and RMS alumnus Manjunath Banashankari.

In his complaint, Banashankari sought disclosure of financial records, a comprehensive audit by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG), and an independent inquiry into the school’s financial and administrative functioning over the past five to eight years.

Attempts to contact RMS Principal Lt Col Seema Bisht for comment were unsuccessful.

Rashtriya Military School, Belagavi, established in 1945 and formerly known as the Royal Indian Military School, is one of five Rashtriya Military Schools in the country and functions under the Ministry of Defence. The institution is regarded as a premier feeder school for the Indian Armed Forces.

The investigation is ongoing, and further details are awaited.
