Malaprabha River Floods Habbanahatti Hanuman Temple

Belagavi: Heavy rainfall over the past several days across the Western Ghats and parts of Belagavi district has led to a significant rise in the water level of the Malaprabha River, resulting in flooding at the renowned Sri Kshetra Habbanahatti Swayambhu Maruti (Hanuman) Temple in Khanapur taluk.

The continuous rain in the Jamboti and surrounding ghat areas has increased the river’s flow, causing the temple premises to be submerged. The rising water level has also raised concerns of further flooding in low-lying areas along the river.

As a precautionary measure, the temple management and local authorities have advised devotees and residents living near the riverbank to remain vigilant and move to safer locations if the water level continues to rise.

Officials are closely monitoring the situation and have urged the public to avoid venturing near the river until conditions improve.
