“I will make sure that Mafia will grow to such heights, that the Police Department will not be able to touch it”, one of the finest dialogues from a Hindi dubbed Telugu movie “No. 1 Businessman”. Well, I am not sure about the Mafia, but sports betting has definitely grown to such heights. Why? Recent developments in the mobile betting apps have turned around the situation for many. Some of them have earned money, while many of them have lost the wholesome amount of money. There was a time when many of the players used to stay away from betting. But now, almost all the players are promoting the betting applications in the name of fantasy league.
Be it “Dream 11” sponsoring the IPL 2020, or “MPL” becoming the new kit sponsors of team India, many of these betting apps are earning better than local businesses. Why not? Cricket is considered as a religion in India. The craze for football is increasing rapidly these days. By using these two crazes, many of the application development companies are making crores of money everyday. But on the other side, with lust towards money, many of the individuals are losing their hard earned money. There are many cases throughout the country that are coming up due to these apps. While some have committed suicide because they lost huge money to these apps, and some have fought and even killed their friends and family due many valid reasons caused by these apps. The Government of India has to come up with some restrictions and regulations on these apps, so that the youths don’t get distracted.
