AMRUT 2.0 Belagavi funding

The Union Ministry of Urban Development has allocated ₹836.45 crore to Belagavi district under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme for enhancing water supply and sanitation infrastructure in 32 urban areas. The funding structure includes 50% from the central government, 40% from the state government, and 10% through public contributions, as confirmed by Rajya Sabha MP Eranna Kadadi.

Key Developments Under the Scheme

A significant portion of the funds, amounting to ₹165 crore, has been earmarked to provide uninterrupted water supply to twin towns, including Mudalagi, Naganur, Kalloli, Arabhavi, and Ghataprabha. Construction works have already commenced in several areas, with plans to start pending projects shortly.

Project Allocations

Below is the fund distribution for major towns in the district:

  • Harugeri & Mugalkhod: ₹51.94 crore
  • Channamma Kittur: ₹25.21 crore
  • MK Hubballi: ₹18.09 crore
  • Athani: ₹47.67 crore
  • Mudalagi, Naganur, Kalloli, Arabhavi, Ghataprabha: ₹165.44 crore
  • Nippani: ₹32.83 crore
  • Machhe & Pirnavadi: ₹85 crore

Other towns, such as Raibag, Khanapur, Ramdurg, and Sankeshwar, have also been allocated funds for water supply and sanitation projects.

Acknowledgment of Efforts

MP Eranna Kadadi applauded the contributions of Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Karnataka Urban Development Minister Byrathi Suresh in securing these funds. He highlighted that the AMRUT 2.0 scheme will significantly improve the quality of life in urban areas by ensuring better water supply and sanitation services.

This initiative is a major step forward in the development of Belagavi district’s urban infrastructure.
