MLA Abhay Patil supported the road construction, stating that it benefited the public and was necessary to ease traffic congestion in Shahapur. He argued that bold decisions for the greater good sometimes require working beyond legal procedures. However, MLA Asif Raju Sait strongly objected, calling the road construction illegal due to the lack of proper land acquisition.
Other Key Issues Discussed
The meeting also covered pressing civic matters, including drainage, road maintenance, and drinking water supply in various areas of Belagavi. The council unanimously agreed to extend civic honors to KLE chairman Dr. Prabhakar Kore on his 75th birthday.
