Shops Targeted in Late-Night Theft
In Belagavi’s Pangul Galli area, two shops were broken into late Wednesday night, with burglars escaping with a total of ₹26,000 worth of cash and goods. The miscreants broke open the shutter of Aryan Store, stealing ₹10,000 in cash and silver items worth ₹12,000.

At Hindustan Trading, the thieves were unable to break open the shutter, but they broke the lock and fled with ₹4,000 in cash.

The shop owners, Pukhraj Devasi and Parashuram Teradal, discovered the theft on Thursday morning. CCTV footage from both shops captured clear visuals of the burglary. Market Police have registered a case and launched an investigation based on the footage.
Drug Peddler Arrested on Goods Shed Road
In a separate operation, CCB police arrested Mohammad Shahid Mulla of Ujwal Nagar for selling narcotics on Goods Shed Road. Officers seized 7.56 grams of heroin worth ₹15,800 along with a mobile phone.
During interrogation, it was revealed that the heroin was supplied by a Mumbai-based individual named Santosh. A case has been registered at the Camp Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
