Statewide Tributes to Honor the Belagavi Congress Session Centenary
The centenary will include tributes across Karnataka, particularly at 40 sites Gandhi visited. Each location will host new memorials honoring Gandhi’s influence on Karnataka’s heritage. Additionally, ceremonial light processions, known as “Rath Yatra Jyothis,” will set out from various districts. These will converge in Belagavi on December 26-27, symbolizing Gandhi’s spirit and spreading his message of peace and unity.
The celebrations will also feature conventions focused on youth, women, and communal unity. These gatherings aim to engage people of all backgrounds and promote harmony. The Karnataka government hopes these efforts will revive Gandhi’s vision of equality and mutual respect.
Inspiring Future Generations with Gandhi’s Legacy
The centenary celebrations aim not only to honor history but also to instill Gandhi’s ideals in younger generations. Running through October 2 of next year, the events highlight Gandhi’s role in India’s independence and his commitment to non-violence and justice. Minister Patil, who leads the centenary committee, announced an upcoming visit to Belagavi on November 5.
