Belagavi: In an effort to curb the rising number of road accidents in Belagavi district, Superintendent of Police K. Ramrajan has announced strict enforcement measures targeting traffic violations and noise pollution.
Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, the SP warned of legal action against tractor owners using high-decibel speakers that cause public disturbance. He also cautioned officials responsible for highway maintenance, stating that negligence would invite action.

Police have intensified traffic checks across the district and have so far seized nearly 200 tractor-mounted loudspeakers. Additionally, tractors transporting sugarcane have been directed to compulsorily install reflectors. Vehicles failing to comply with the safety norms will be confiscated, the SP said.
Authorities stated that these measures aim to improve road safety and reduce accident-related fatalities in the district.
