K!dn@pper injured in police firing near Athani
In Belagavi district, police injured a man accused of k!dnapp!ng two young children in an early Friday confrontation near Athani town. Officers intercepted the car involved in the abduction, and the suspect then @ttacked them, according to Superintendent of Police Dr. Bhimashankar Guled. Police fired in self-defense, and the suspect is now receiving treatment at a hospital in Athani. CCTV Captures K!dnapp!ng Incident
The k!dnapp!ng took place on Thursday along Hulagbal Road in Athani. Two unidentified men abducted siblings Swasti (4) and Viyom (3) from their home and fled in their vehicle. CCTV footage recorded the entire incident. Vijay Desai, the children’s father, reported that the kidnapping happened while he and his wife were at work, leaving the children with their grandmother.
Police Investigation Progressing
After the abduction and confrontation, the Athani police began a full investigation. Officers are actively gathering details about the suspects and surrounding circumstances to ensure the children’s safe return and prevent further incidents.
