Minister Satish Jarakiholi instructed to start the distribution of sowing seeds
Belgaum, May 30 (Karnataka News): Minister of Public Works Department Satish Jarakiholi instructed that as the rainy season is starting, the distribution of seeds and fertilizers to the farmers should be brought to the attention of all the local MLAs in the district from tomorrow.
He was presiding over the meeting of officials of all departments held at Suvarna Vidhana Soudha on Tuesday (May 30) regarding the development of the district.
He said that measures should be taken to get seeds as close as possible to avoid farmers from wandering far to buy seeds.
If compensation is pending for farmer suicide cases, it should be released immediately. As soon as the suicide is reported, a post-mortem examination should be conducted and relief should be released. In this regard, Tahsildar and concerned officials should respond quickly, he said.
In the case of calamity, when any livestock dies, the authorities themselves should go to the house and distribute compensation to their owners.
Many people do not seek compensation because they do not know the process of getting compensation. So the authorities should take an interest and give compensation.
He instructed that since the schools are starting, the process of appointment of guest teachers should be started.
He said that dilapidated school buildings should be cleared.
Every primary health center in the district should have a stock of essential medicines.
Minister Satish Jarakiholi said that steps will be taken for the inauguration of Belagavi’s super specialty hospital by providing the necessary machinery.
Minister Satish Jarakiholi instructed that permission should be given to start ration shops in rural and urban areas of the district where there are more BPL cards.
Drinking water supply projects in Jalle should be completed in the time frame. The longer the work is delayed, the more the problem of drinking water will increase. So the work should not be delayed for any reason. Minister Jarakiholi directed the officers that the officers should be continuously monitored and completed within the time limit.
He said that a separate meeting will be held on other important issues including the drinking water supply of Belgaum City and necessary steps will be taken.
Officials should work according to the wishes of the new government. The government’s priority is to give good governance to the people. Officials should work fast.
Minister Satish Jarakiholi assured that active officers will be encouraged to work.
Speaking at the meeting, Lakshmi Hebbalkar, Minister of Women and Child Development, Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities and Senior Citizens Department, said that some technical reasons are hindering the release of compensation to the families of farmers who have committed suicide in the district, and action should be taken quickly in such cases.
He said that while selecting the beneficiaries of the drip irrigation scheme, the MLAs of the respective constituencies should be brought to the attention and the eligible beneficiaries should be selected.
The work done under the Employment Guarantee Scheme should benefit the farmers.
Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar told the officials of the Education Department that desks and other furniture should be provided to the schools in need as the schools are starting.
He said that if a proposal is submitted and information is given regarding the repair of primary health centers, approval will be obtained at the government level.
He instructed the officials that there are 3500 BPL card holders in Sambra and additional ration shops should be opened.
He told the District Collector that the information required for the establishment of Anganwadi centers should be obtained immediately and steps should be taken to provide the site immediately.
He said that officials of revenue, rural development and women and child development departments should hold a joint meeting and provide a site for the establishment of anganwadi center.
He said that necessary preparations should be made for possible flood management.
Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar said that some villages including Chandana Hosur, Bekkinakeri, and Benakanahalli are facing problems with drinking water and authorities should take action to supply drinking water through tankers.
We have to fulfill the expectations that the people have placed on the government. Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar told the officials that the officials should respond to people’s problems.
Bailahongala MLA Mahantesh Kaujalagi said that action should be taken to distribute sowing seeds through PKPS.
He urged the Minister to issue an instruction that relief should be released immediately under the Natural Disaster Guidelines when the fields of farmers are burnt by lightning.
The office of the Joint Director of the Silk Department has been shifted from Belgaum to the Haveri district. Therefore, he demanded in the meeting that the office of the Joint Director should be shifted back to Belgaum.
MLA Mahantesh Kaujalagi said schools in rural areas where there is a shortage of teachers should be given priority while deputing appointed guest teachers.
District Collector Nitesh Patila explained that sowing seeds are being distributed through a total of 170 centers including farmer contact centers in the district.
He said that the selection of beneficiaries under any scheme of the Horticulture Department should be done through a committee chaired by the District Collector
Belagavi North MLA Asif (Raju) Seth demanded that guest teachers should be filled immediately when there is a shortage of teachers.
Kudachi MLA Mahendra Tammanvara, Raibag MLA Duryodhana Aihole, Savadatti MLA Vishwas Vaidya, Kittur MLA Babasaheb Patil, Legislative Council Member Channaraj Hattiholi, Dr. Sabanna Talwar were present in the meeting.
