“Humans stand straight for there exists a backbone,
Wondering if there wasn’t any,
And while the world is supported by a farmer alone,
Who strives lone, to serve the many!”
Wasn’t many years ago, India was known for its cultural approach, where the righteous were valued. The natural resources, however, were too hyped, but now we know how necessary was that blindfold to save its importance, to save the natural resource itself.
Not just sticking to the materialistic things, we then moved to give extra importance to certain people designated to do certain jobs. They were soldiers and farmers! The farmers were certainly respected for their selfless contribution towards the growth and protection of the citizens.
Do they still have retained the importance we once gave them? Do you hear any youngster telling his plan to be a farmer? Or if you are a teen yourself did you ever consider being a farmer yourself?
There is a clear NO to all these questions, right? What do you think could be the reason for such a deviated mindset? It’s of course what’s called modernization.
We are constantly losing the grip, what’s worse is we aren’t we bound to realize the same. The constant change in the environment is killing the core value that has been supporting the country itself. And every farmer as an individual, even to the ground level, as a human is suffering.
Along with the general problems, the farmers do face many technical problems as well. Unavailability of seeds, storage problems, lack of modern equipment, lack of facilities otherwise, dealing with middle man, etc. While it is difficult for one to resolve every problem, but we can start with little.
We should educate ourselves with the importance of farmers and Agriculture before the clock ticks because if not, the whole of the country will be in trouble. Even today, if every farmer decides to quit his job, the economy of the country will also collapse.
It’s a call to every citizen of our country to join hands in the support of the farmers. Because if they grow, we grow! If they fall, we fall! Selflessness is a quality that very few possess, and farmers constitute the major part, fight for the right, to save yourselves, and to be smart.
