Belagavi: A review meeting on the progress of various central government development projects was held at the Belagavi Deputy Commissioner’s office in the presence of Belagavi MP Jagadish Shettar and Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan.

Officials from the Railway Department, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), and Airport Authority participated in the meeting and discussed the status of ongoing projects.
During the meeting, officials informed that the Halaga–Machhe bypass road project is progressing, with a portion already completed and the entire 13.33 km stretch expected to be finished by December. The Belagavi–Sankeshwar six-lane highway project is also nearing completion.

Regarding the Belagavi–Kittur–Dharwad new railway line, around 407 acres of land has already been acquired out of the required 1,200 acres. The state government has approved ₹50 crore in the first phase to compensate farmers.
The meeting also discussed the expansion of Belagavi Airport, which requires additional land from the Indian Air Force, and the issue will be taken up with the concerned authorities.
Senior officials from the land acquisition department, NHAI, railway, and airport authorities were present at the meeting.
