Under the plan, the State government will contribute ₹90 crore as a grant, while the Union government will provide a ₹100-crore long-term, interest-free loan. In the first phase, the Public Works Department has invited tenders for works worth ₹140 crore.

The proposed development includes construction of an administrative building, a multi-level queue complex to streamline darshan, an Annadasoha (free meals) building, hawker zones, renovation of the existing commercial complex, multipurpose halls, public toilets, waiting areas, pilgrimage information centres, a first aid centre, cafeteria, parking facilities, pathways, compound walls, and extensive landscaping.

The project will also feature smart infrastructure such as large display screens, digital signage, solar water heaters, multiple sewage treatment plants, and comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Development under the Gaurav Ghataka and Pradikara components will improve sanitation, water supply, and overall hygiene.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan said that preparatory works, including clearing encroachments, widening access roads, and earmarking land for facilities, have been completed. Construction is expected to begin within a month, significantly enhancing pilgrim comfort, crowd management, and environmental sustainability at one of North Karnataka’s most revered temples.
