Two crores of undocumented cash were seized at the Hirebagewadi toll gate.
Belagavi, 5th April (Karnataka News): Two crore rupees in cash, which was being transported in a private bus without proper documents, was seized at the Hirebagewadi toll gate.
When the private bus (KA 70 1459) which was going from Mumbai to Mangalore was inspected at around 3.30 in the morning, the illegal money was found when the team of FST and the police officers jointly inspected it.
District Collector Nitesh Patil said that according to the KP Act, the case will be registered and information will be given to the officials of the Income Tax Department.
Immediately after hearing the news, District Collector Nitesh Patil visited and reviewed the case.
A case has been registered at the Hirebagewadi police station and the investigation will continue. One person has been arrested in connection with the case.
DCP Sneha, Rural ACP Gopalakrishna Gowda, Electoral Officer of Belgaum Rural Constituency Rajasekhar Dambala, CPI Amaresh, F.S.T. Team Shambhulingappa, Rajendra Morabada participated in the operation.
Police and F.S.T. District Collector Nitesh Patil and Police Commissioner Dr MB Boralingaiah appreciated the work of the team.
