World Post Day - 9th October

Let's Celebrate "The World Post Day"

Did you know that our Indian Postal Services is the largest in this world? Yes, found in 1854, our Indian Post is the largest and one of the oldest postal services in the world. Today is the day that is dedicated to that organization that collects and delivers your post throughout the country.

“World Post Day” is celebrated on October 9 every year. World Post Day was declared at the 1969 UPU Congress in Tokyo. It was proposed by Shri Anand Mohan Narula, the Indian delegation member of UPU Congress. Since then, every year “World Post Day” is celebrated on the 9th of October.

Although the impact of postal services is down in the recent period due to Covid-19 and electronic transfer is at the fingertips of most people, still, the demand for post offices has never decreased.

The Postman Circle

May it be bank sending official and formal letters, or for sending any personal items and information to our friends and family, our postal service has helped the country in all the possible way.

Belagavi on the other hand is the only city in North Karnataka region which has the statue of postman, dedicated to the millions of postmans around the country. This statue is situated near the head post office and is known as “The Postman Circle”. We here at Marvelous Belgaum, would like to acknowledge and thank the Indian post staff for helping the nation by delivering the important information on time to the respective owners.
