Yallama Devi temple doors will remain closed till 30th of December due to the pandemic, according to the orders of DC.
Past few months have been impossible, we have seen all that we never thought existed. And then we are at the end of year where things pretty much seems anything can happen, and has happened. The doors of this sacred temple never had ever remained closed for “Jatra” but this demon pandemic also did that to us.
The temple is situated about 5 Kilometers away from Saundatti, which has been blessing the devotes for ages now. It has been prominent over the hill, which is known as “Yellamma Gudda” The temple is known to be associated with the ancient Devadasi practice of dedicating girls to the temple.
The temple is also been evident for its archeological resources dating back to mid of 8th to 11th of centuries of the early Rashtrakuta or later Chalukyan period.
And there is much more to the history of this miraculous place.
Let’s all bow to this goddess to celebrate her glory. And meanwhile always remember to stay safe by staying at home and mandatorily using masks and sanitizers.
