On 26th November 2021 at 6:30PM a truck bearing the registration number KA 22 D 2022 was seen driving recklessly on the wrong side of Khanapur road. When corrected, the driver got into an argument and behaved rudely.
This can be serious offence under Section 279 of the Indian Penal Code which reads as follows :-
Whoever drives any vehicle, or rides, on any public way in a manner so rash or negligent as to endanger human life, or to be likely to cause hurt or injury to any other person, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to six months, or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, or with both.
Under this section, Police has a right to arrest a person of an offence without any warrant.
